Biography

James Hollingshead was born in England and discovered bodybuilding at a young age, first lifting weights in a friend's garage before stepping on stage for his first competition in 2008. Inspired by athletes like Flex Lewis and driven by a desire to give back to the mother who worked tirelessly to raise him, James quickly developed the relentless work ethic that would define his career.

Now regarded as one of Britain's most respected Open bodybuilders, James has spent nearly two decades building his legacy through consistency, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to improvement. After becoming the UKBFF Overall British Champion in 2017, he earned victories at the Europa Pro and British Grand Prix before competing on bodybuilding's biggest stages, including the Mr. Olympia and Arnold Classic. Now balancing fatherhood with professional bodybuilding, James continues to chase progress with the same hunger that fueled him from the beginning. His partnership with GASP is built on a shared belief that success is earned through hard work, resilience, and never settling for yesterday's best.

I competed for the first time in 2008, but I'd been training seriously since I was about 14 years old.

Who are your biggest influences?
Flex Lewis and Evan Centopani. They showed me what was possible and gave me the belief to chase it myself.

What motivates you to keep pushing?
I still have the desire to win. I'm still improving, and as long as I keep progressing, I'll keep chasing more.

What do you enjoy outside the gym?
Gaming, spending time with my family, and building memories with my daughter. I'm also a huge Resident Evil fan.

What advice would you give your younger self?
Nothing. Every decision—good or bad—helped get me to where I am today, and I'm grateful for that journey.
