Now I can proudly say that in my book we are definitely on the right journey towards our own dream, where Destination is our second home and is well taken care of by its members and staff.

We have fun in and around our home base and the environment is truly JUDGEMENT FREE which is a hard thing to achieve. We are a diverse crowd of like-minded people…

Destination gym is 7 years old and has never made any money as every dime has been reinvested together with even more support from GASP and Better Bodies.

A Message From The CEO - Our "Why"

Destination Dallas Texas is the home base of Better Bodies and GASP. Destination is a place for everyone interested in bodybuilding and fitness, where the focus lies in hard training and any unnecessary norms and expectations from the society are left outside.

This is a place where we create social belonging regardless of background, color, sex or creed. An open-door type of destination that is more like an extension of our own living room.

The environment is truly judgement free, and we are a diverse crowd of like-minded people.

Finding a good training companion or gym partner may kick your training motivation up a notch. It can also enable you to push yourself above the limits you had originally set for yourself, consciously or unconsciously.

We never turn down an opportunity to capture our dedicated athletes in their pursuit for excellence and we are proud to have a very diverse and mixed group of GASP athletes that frequently train at Destination. Not always do they know each other before they walk through the door, but the language of GASP and the gym is the same for everyone and at Destination we are all equals.

With our videos and content we aim to inspire and give you some extra ammunition on your personal fitness journey, wherever your starting point may be or whatever you aim to achieve.

In this arm training feature we meet up with 

 for some serious arm building exercises. Three bodybuilders with different backgrounds who all agrees on one thing; Progressive overload is necessary for muscle hypertrophy.

A full range of motion and perfect form has its room for individual interpretation and is not the only training style that works,or the only method these guys have ever used to train.

"If you've noticed, we all use perfect form and we all have pretty good arm development."

All three of them have an arm circumference that measures over 20 inches but on that same note, all three have been training for over 10-15 years. Dedication, consistency, a no compromise attitude, and a relentless pursuit are shared denominators in these guys lives.

One thing that is common between perfect form and form that can be seen as "cheating" is the overload principle. Regardless of preference of style, overload is a must or anyone will just be lifting weights vs actually training.

When an individual trains and progressively overloads the muscle, they activate stimulus that is creating an environment beneficial to getting bigger and stronger. When an individual merely lifts weight with no steady tracking of weight increase and not continually overloading the muscles week in and week out, there will naturally be a lack of stimulus to keep the body growing bigger and stronger.

Hunter Labrada and Joe Mackey are both 9 weeks out from competing in bodybuilding at the IFBB Tampa Pro. We we will document the whole process with more training collaborations all the way up to contest time. Both of these guys are training to win. Both have to take on each day relentlessly and at 100% to keep progressing towards the stage in just two months.

Overload for Building Massive Arms 

To be successful long term, it's important to have fun through the whole journey. Don't live life in the form of one transaction to the next. Enjoy every experience, learn from them, improve from them, and build on relationships that compliment the journey. This is the essence of the Iron World Tour.

We kicked off August with 2 of the most epic weeks in terms of events, collaborations and team building in and around the GASP home base and the work hard play hard lifestyle.

First we ended July and kicked off August in Tampa with the equivalent of an Iron World Tour Tampa with a heavy hitting GASP team of athletes traveling to, training and preparing for the Tampa Pro. Hunter Labrada ended up winning the event and earning his spot in the 2020 Mr. Olympia.

Flash forward a week and we have the most jam packed days of training collabs and feature productions with Muscle and Strength, Muscular Development's Hector Mendoza and interviews and team building with Lee Labrada, Branch Warren, Johnnie Jackson, Keone Pearson and Hunter Labrada. Throughout all of the action we have some epic documentation via Kyle Wurzel, Hector and video producer Wake Wilder.

The purpose of this video is to show what a non stop, epic week we had at Destination and to illustrate the mission of GASP, Better Bodies and Destination as well as the mission of who we all collaborate with. The common denominator is always to improve the lives of others and to change the world through the fitness platform.

"We all become part of each others journeys. Everything is intertwined and everybody is walking the same direction with the goal to get better and make others better."

We wrap up the week at Branch Warren's farm where Guardian Response hosts their one stop shop to improve proficiency with shooting, assessing threats and being fit to be an immediate responder. Hunter, Branch and GASP CEO Michael Johansson join Butch Steinle and Tony and Mike from Guardian Response to "have a little fun."

It's Armbrust Pro Gym meets Destination here in Texas!

1. Don't be an A hole. Nothin good comes from it and you miss out on building cool friendships and relationships.

2. What works for someone won't for someone else. So what works for you. This will take some trial and error.

3. Have a plan and a strategy! Anything worth doing is worth over doing. This takes foresight and planning.

4. Bodybuilding is a marathon not a sprint. Don't gas yourself out. Slow and steady wins the race!

We catch up with premier 212 pro Derek Lunsford. Derek has had a fast rise to knocking on the door of his first Olympia win. After the 2018 Olympia and finishing 2nd to Flex Lewis he went into the 2019 Olympia a fan favorite and sure fire winner. When the dust settled that wasn't the case and it was extremely mentally tough on Derek.

Here in this interview Derek breaks it all down and explains from childhood all the way to missing the win in 2019 the mental cues of essentially needing certain validation and hearing the hype to having the whole narrative turn upside down along with any peace of mind.
