In the digital age of the internet, quick reactions, stimulation and instant gratification, it can be easy to lose yourself to thinking "small" and only in the here and now.

This particular Iron World Tour segment is part 2 from our San Antonio tour. We get a heavy dose of Texas history and a brief look into the life of the men who believed in something so strongly they were willing to fight and die for here at the Alamo.

"There were nearly 200 men who stood up against impossible odds and they knew they couldn't make it out alive. But these men were fighting for their families and their homes. None of these men died in vain.

The Alamo tour gave a great reminder of the lengths people will go for what they believe. Segway back into the digital age reference and its clear, even with all the opportunities, resources and information available today that grit, determination and delayed gratification are key aspects to success that are less and less common.

We round off part 2 here in San Antonio by all linking up at the Muscle Factory, the home gym of John and Renee Jewett. We had a massive crew ALL training legs and leaving everything on the floor.

Iron World Tour: Texas History and Leg Training at Muscle Factory

We are on the road again with the crew visiting no BS gyms, eating, and catching up on some great Texas history.

This first stop and what you will see here in this video is Metroflex San Marcos with Shaun Clarida, Hunter Labrada, Liv Roth, Guy Cisternino, Branch Warren, Jason Hebert, Austin Karr, Christina Heath, and Kris Zizzo.

Metroflex San Marcos delivered on the atmosphere that is as expected with Metroflex. Garage doors, no AC, plenty of free weights, and people training with a purpose.

"People come here because they love to train. You don't have to be the most massive person to be hardcore. People don't come here to workout, they come here to train! Hardcore doesn't have to mean being massive or super strong. Hardcore is about your mentality and how you train."

Branch explains that "the work never ends. You're never done." Work is always a part of life. Branch Warren further explains living out of your comfort zone and putting yourself with people who are better than you in some way in order to grow.

"When you're a skinny 17-year-old kid (or a newbie to the gym) hell yea I was super excited but intimidated at the same time. I overcame that fear and put myself with those bigger better dudes and eventually got bigger and stronger."

Miles with application. Branch trains back at destination hitting some of his stronger weights building his strength back up. He's gained 20lb since his lowest bodyweight post surgery. So making his way back to his old strength in preparation for the upcoming Iron World Tour in Copenhagen, London and Sweden what better way than to tell you all how it went down when Branch originally came to Sweden with GASP 10 a few years later won the British grand prix and trained with Dorian in Birmingham.

Back Day and Back In the Day with Branch Warren - Still F..king Earning It

About an hour outside of Shanghai on the way to Hangzhou is Jiaxing City with a population of 4 million people. This is the old town area called River of Moon. We went to see some local sights like the charming Jinghang canal. This canal goes all the way to Beijing. If you remember the 007 Golden Eye movie, some shots were done here in Jiaxing in Old Town. We passed by God Wealth hall, if you need something you come here and say prayers. Some people pray for more money or blessings etc.

We also passed by a rice cake museum which the Chinese eat a lot of. No correlation to the rice cakes used for contest day for bodybuilders. This passage with these tiny leaflets of paper are when people make a wish and want it to come true they hang it up there. This area is a local treasure with a lot of restaurants, small businesses and local amenities that tourists can enjoy too.

The oldest gym in China was also on our list of stops.

"I knew when we pulled up into this neighborhood that this would be like Metroflex. All of the best athletes come out of gyms like this!"

The owner and legendary Bodybuilder Bian Qiuwei started this place 30 years ago and Michael Johansson was eager to ask him some questions.

 Where did you get your inspiration to start this gym? 30 years ago in China, wasn't it hard to find information or knowing what to do to start a gym like this?

 When my brother and I were young my father wouldn't allow us to go out and play so we lifted weights at home. I got my inspiration from Mr. Olympia champions like Frank Zane and other American bodybuilding champions and from the Chinese magazine Fitness and Beauty. To open the gym, I got help from key people from Shanghai that I knew.

 In order to develop your successful gym what was important, what was the cornerstone of your gym?

 I think learning how to execute the movements correctly is the most important. To share my knowledge with my members. Teach them how to actually do bodybuilding and pursue fitness.

After trying Bien's one of many home made shoulder equipment pieces Michael Johansson concludes that: 

You realize that he really put some huge efforts and passion into making some totally flawless and smooth shoulder equipment that still to this day is future proof for any experienced pro bodybuilder in the USA - and this was made already 30 years ago.

The Oldest Gym In China

From Beijing to Shanghai, the IWT China is set up with a busy schedule and this is only the first part! See this first leg of the trip from Branch and Johnnies view as they visit popular tourist spots, eat local food, trains hard, and inspire the Chinese bodybuilding community.

Intensity is key to anyone trying carve their own way and break through with their goals, ideas, dreams or whatever the case may be. It is when the going gets tough that you find out if any individual really wants these goals, ideas or dreams to become reality.
